-Frequently Asked Questions-
How long will each bar of soap last?
On average, one bar of soap will last 3-4 weeks with daily use. Longevity can vary depending on how often it is used, whether it's kept dry between uses, water hardness and whether multiple people are using the same bar. To extend the life of your bar, place it on a well-draining soap dish or in a hanging sisal bag that allows the soap to fully dry out.
soap to fully dry out.
Is goat milk really the main ingredient?
Yep — the goat milk is real, and it’s really the main ingredient. We don’t sprinkle it in for fun. Our Nigerian Dwarf goats work hard for that top spot on the label. Each bar on average contains over 1.5 ounces of our fresh goat milk.
What is the white film on the soap in some spots?
Sometimes you may notice a light white or powdery appearance on the surface of your soap. This is called soda ash, and it’s completely normal in handcrafted cold-process soap. Goat milk soap contains natural sugars, fats, and proteins that can make the soap batter behave differently during curing. These beautiful natural ingredients sometimes increase the likelihood of soda ash forming — especially in small-batch, handcrafted soap where we avoid harsh chemical additives used in commercial production. soda ash is harmless and will rinse off during the first use. Your soap underneath is exactly the same luxurious, nourishing bar.
How big are your bars of soap?
Our soaps are generally 4–5 ounces, but the exact weight can vary slightly.
Here’s why: after we pour and cut each loaf, the bars go through a curing process that lasts several weeks. During curing, excess water evaporates, which makes the bar harder, helps it last longer, and can slightly reduce the final weight. So, while each bar starts at around 5 oz when freshly cut, the finished, fully cured bar usually lands in the 4–5 oz range.
What does it mean to "cure" the soap?
Curing is the final stage of soapmaking, where each bar rests for several weeks (generally 6-8 weeks) to reach its ideal hardness, gentleness, and lather. It allows excess moisture to evaporate naturally, giving you a longer-lasting, beautifully balanced bar.
Do the soaps ever go bad?
Technically no, as they age, they actually become milder and longer lasting. The only changes you might notice are a softer scent or lighter color over time. Although our bars are beautiful - they are meant to be used. Our soaps are made to be enjoyed, not stored. While they don’t expire, we recommend using them within a year for the freshest scent and the richest, creamiest lather. Natural ingredients — especially essential oils — simply shine their brightest within the first 12 months.
How do your soaps get their beautiful colors?
Most of the beautiful colors in our soaps come from natural clays and plant-based powders. For a few of the brighter and more unusual shades that nature can't easily create, we use high-quality, skin-safe micas.
We choose gentle, cosmetic-grade colorants that blend well with our creamy goat milk base while still keeping the bar nourishing and gentle on your skin.
Why are the colors in my soaps changing or uneven?
Because we work with so many natural ingredients, and they can sometimes be unpredictable, colors can sometimes vary slightly from batch to batch. Color variation is normal- and part of the beauty of handmade soap.
Why is goat milk soap different than store bought soap?
Most store-bought soaps aren’t true soaps — they’re detergent bars.
They’re often made with synthetic foaming agents, cheap filler ingredients, harsh chemicals, and a bunch of ingredients you can't pronounce. Our goat milk soap, on the other hand, is made through the traditional cold process method and is
made with real goat milk (#1 ingredient), natural oils, skin loving butterfat and no detergents.
Do you ship?
Yes, we offer shipping! All orders are carefully packaged and shipped anywhere within the United States. We take extra care to protect each bar, so it arrives fresh, beautiful, and ready to use.
Do you make custom orders?
Absolutely! We offer custom orders for gifts, events, weddings, baby showers, party favors, and more.
You can choose your scent, color palette, packaging style, and even add personalized tags or labels.
Because each batch is handcrafted, custom orders do require advance notice, and we’ll walk you through the timeline.
Do you test on animals?
No way! The only things our goats test are our patience and how many snacks they can get out of us. Our soap is tested only on willing humans — never on animals.
Are the soaps safe for kids and those with sensitive skin?
Yes — our soaps are safe for children and sensitive skin. Goat milk is rich in vitamins and natural butterfat, which helps hydrate and calm the skin rather than strip it. We also avoid harsh detergents, sulfates, and drying chemicals commonly found in store-bought soaps. For very sensitive skin we recommend choosing our unscented bar or gentle shea bar.
For little ones we suggest our baby shea bar.
Do you milk your own goats?
Yes, we do! Our goats are lovingly spoiled and milked by us twice a day — no outsourced milk, no powders, just the real deal from goats we love and know by name.
Why is your soap more expensive than soap at the store?
Our soaps cost more than store-bought bars because they’re truly handmade from start to finish. We care for and hand-milk our Nigerian Dwarf goats, and their fresh, high-butterfat milk becomes the #1 ingredient in every batch. Each bar is mixed, poured, cut, and cured by hand right here on our little farm— no machines, no shortcuts — and then packaged with care. We use only natural oils, butters, clays, and skin-safe fragrances, never detergents or fillers.
Simply put: Good soap isn’t cheap, and cheap soap isn’t good. We know spending a little more isn’t for everyone — but once you try our goat milk soap, we think you’ll feel the difference and never want to go back to regular soap again.
Are your soaps vegan?
A bar that contains goat milk or tallow is not considered vegan. Anything made with milk or any animal-derived ingredient
falls outside the vegan category. If you're looking for vegan options, we have two great choices:
the Gentle Shea Bar and the Baby Shea Bar. Both are made with plant-based ingredients only (no goat milk or tallow) and still give you that creamy, nourishing feel.
Can goat milk soap be used on your face?
Yes. Goat milk soap is an excellent facial cleanser because it’s rich in vitamins, naturally hydrating, and incredibly gentle on delicate skin.
Will it make me break out?
No, goat milk soap does not typically cause breakouts, it is actually known for being gentle and soothing. Goat milk soap is unlikely to make you break out. It's naturally non comedogenic (won't clog pores), pH-balanced, rich in gently moisturizing fats, and free of harsh detergents that irritate the skin. Most people find it actually reduces redness and breakouts because it supports the skin's natural barrier rather than stripping it.
